Outrage not objective

The Spokesman-Review

“What irony!!?” – indeed.

Tuesday’s political cartoon wasn’t enough, you had to add Scott Stantis’ on Wednesday, decrying the murder of Dr. George Tiller.

The pro-choice people – and now the once respectable Spokesman-Review – are outraged and shocked at the death of this individual.

But where was The Spokesman’s outrage and shock over Dr. Tiller’s long career of butchery?

The influence a newspaper wields in a community is a dangerous thing, if mishandled. All the staffing cuts your newspaper had to make in the last year or so should be an indicator that to be just one more rat following the pied piper is not a profitable thing.

Add another death to Dr. Tiller’s and his 60,000 victims. Add thoughtful, objective journalism.
