Rush can’t handle truth

The Spokesman-Review

President Obama has made his selection for the Supreme Court. It is Sonia Sotomayor, and the long knives are already out.

Dear old Rush Limbaugh is calling Obama a reverse racist. Well if anybody should know something about racism – reverse or otherwise – it would be Rush “Barack the Magic Negro” Limbaugh. Poor old Rush can’t get over the fact that white males over the age of 50 are no longer in control of everything that happens in the public arena.

Here’s something to contemplate. Suppose someone is raised in public housing in the Bronx. Let’s say this person is brought up by a single mother. Now let’s say the person does well in high school, then goes on to a prestigious university and graduates at the top of the class.

Now suppose this person is a white male rather than a Hispanic female. We would cheer the Horatio Alger success story. There would be no mention of the dreaded “affirmative action” word.

Well, Sonia’s story is a success story due to hard work and determination, not affirmative action. To which this old white male adds, “you go, girl.”
