Knife attack leads to victims’ arrests

The Spokesman-Review
An exchange of insults at Spokane’s downtown bus depot got pointed Tuesday night when a 24-year-old attacked two other men with a knife. When one of the men asked another for a cigarette, the suspect brandished a pocketknife, stabbing 22-year-old Daniel J. Carter in the lower back and slashing the shirt of 19-year-old Sean M. Wolfe, Spokane police said. Although officers found the suspect near Sprague Avenue and Wall Street, neither victim wanted to press charges; in fact, both men had court orders for their arrest and tried to avoid police, according to police. Police arrested and booked Wolfe on his warrant, and Carter will be booked when he is released from the hospital after treatment for his wound, police said. The initial confrontation happened about 10 p.m. at the Spokane Transit Authority Plaza on West Riverside Avenue.
