Miss Cali’s card gets Trumped

Miss California USA Carrie Prejean, who stirred up trouble for herself when she said gays shouldn’t be allowed to marry, got two dreaded words from pageant poobah Donald Trump on Wednesday: “You’re fired.”

Trump said Prejean was being sacked not because of the remarks, but because she didn’t make public appearances as promised.

“Carrie is a beautiful young woman, and I wish her well as she pursues her other interests,” he said.

Pageant officials complained Prejean was skipping Miss California USA events while speaking out against gay marriage at other appearances.

“I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California USA Organization, and I gave her the opportunity to do so,” said Trump, who granted Prejean a second chance last month.

“Unfortunately it just doesn’t look like it is going to happen,” he added.

Prejean will be replaced by first runner-up Tami Farrell, who was Miss Teen USA in 2003.

Keeping Lohan to himself

Lindsay Lohan’s estranged father will avoid prosecution on harassment charges if he stays out of trouble for the next year.

Michael Lohan allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend and himself if she left him.

He divorced Dina Lohan in 2007, after serving nearly two years for attempted assault and driving while intoxicated.

A not-so-royal revelation

Queen Latifah tells Essence magazine that she was sexually abused as a child by a teenager charged with watching her.

“I never told anybody; I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arm’s distance,” the 39-year-old singer-actress says, adding that the abuse affected her relationships.
