Aggressive drivers targeted

From Staff Reports

The Idaho Transportation Department is funding an emphasis on aggressive drivers on Idaho highways today through June 21.

Local law enforcement will target drivers for tailgating, changing lanes abruptly, speeding, running yellow lights, or ignoring traffic signs. Those in violation will be ticketed, the Boise-based ITD said.

In 2008, aggressive driving was the leading cause of traffic deaths in Idaho, the ITD said. Of 232 people killed on Idaho highways, 100 died because of aggressive driving.
