CEO says casino has seen 12 percent revenue growth

The Coeur d’Alene Tribe is embarking on a $75 million expansion of its resort casino and hotel.

The 24-month expansion will add 105 hotel rooms, new restaurants and a 15,000-square foot spa. The additions will bring up to 150 new jobs to the casino north of Worley, Idaho, which currently employs about 900 people.

Despite national downturns in the gaming industry, the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel experienced a 12 percent growth in revenue during the first six months of this year, compared to the same period in 2008, said David LaSarte-Meeks, the casino’s CEO.

“We’re growing,” he said. “We don’t see the recession in our business.”
