In defense of mother

The Spokesman-Review

We often read The Spoksman-Review online as we have three grown children and their families living in Spokane. We were saddened to read the Sunday, June 7, 2009 sports article entitled “Still Fighting” in which Chynna Nibler had stated that her mother, Stephanie Yeater, is not part of Chynna’s family and “hasn’t been in the picture for a very long time.”

We have known Chynna’s mother, Stephanie, for many years and Stephanie’s unwavering love and concern for her children has always been a constant in her life. We can truthfully say that her main concern in all the years we’ve known her has always been that of her children.

Chynna’s illness was a devastating time for her mother and at all times Stephanie was available for her both in body and spirit. It’s time The Spoksman-Review ran an article on “Parental Alienation Syndrome” (PAS). It would be a most interesting and beneficial read.
