Reward offered in Valley cash store robbery

A man robbed a payday loan store Friday, and Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information that helps identify a suspect. Officers responding to an alarm at The Cash Store, 1509 N. Pines Road, about 6 p.m. found a female clerk locked inside crying, according to Crime Stoppers. The woman said a black man in his late 20s or early 30s stole cash after patting his left side and saying he had a gun, a news release said. The man ran westbound on Maxwell Avenue into an apartment complex parking lot, police said. “The victim said the suspect was confident and relaxed, as if he had committed previous robberies,” according to the news release. The robber wore a navy or black long-sleeved jacket, black gloves, mirrored sunglasses and a Jamaican-style hat over dreadlocks that may have been a wig. Anyone with information on a suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (509) 326-5111 or submit tips online at www.crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org.
