Students saw first responders at Holocaust Memorial

Thirty students from St. George’s School were at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum the same morning the deadly shooting took place last week. They’re now back in Spokane after a five day trip. The middle school students had studied the holocaust in class and were in the midst of a five day tour of Washington D.C. landmarks when 88-year-old white supremacist James W. von Brunn allegedly shot and killed a guard at the entrance to the museum. Ruth Ann Johnson was one of two teachers with the group of 30 middle-school students. They had toured the museum from 10:30 to 11:30 that morning and were on the opposite side of the museum building when the shooting occurred at 12:50.
