Constitution subverted

The Spokesman-Review

Let’s back off, cool down and re-examine some facts.

1. Once again, marriage is NOT a civil right unless a state constitution says so. It’s a social contract rightly under state regulation. No homosexual marriage? No denial of rights!

2. Church-state separation is an illegal basis for Supreme Court decisions on religious behavior because neither the words nor concept is in the Constitution. Congress shall not establish an official Church of USA; the right to free religious expression in public shall not be prohibited. Doesn’t say “public”? It couldn’t mean anything else.

Too many Americans now believe church-state separation is valid, and since the state has intruded itself everywhere, the two plus two equals minus-three answer must be that no public religious expression or religious-backed viewpoint is allowed. This is why I say the separation fiasco is illegal – rather than preserving the First Amendment, it does the opposite by subverting the “free exercise” clause.

When Christians hold up the Bible and denounce homosexuality and its legitimization, they speak truth and are within their actual civil rights. Liberals insisting they shut up and keep their religious opinions to themselves are the ones denying the rights of others.
