Man hospitalized after swallowing meth

A man who handed police a bag of methamphetamine before swallowing another was hospitalized Monday. Spokane Valley police looking for a suspect in another crime followed Christopher J. Teuscher, 22, in a Jeep near a North Argonne motel just after midnight, police said. A passenger who has not been identified bailed out of the car, but police stopped Teuscher on East Mission for committing traffic violations, according to a news release. Teuscher was driving with a suspended license and had a small bag of meth sticking out of his pocket, police said. Teuscher gave police the bag but swallowed another, police said. Officers took Teuscher to Valley Hospital and Medical Center, “where staff reported he had extremely high blood pressure, and a very-elevated heart rate,” according to the news release. He was released that day. Teuscher faces one charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
