STA to operate Hoopfest shuttles

 (Molly Quinn / The Spokesman-Review)
Staff reports The Spokesman-Review
Spokane Transit will operate two downtown shuttles for Hoopfest this weekend. •The Riverpoint Loop shuttle travels from the parking lots at the WSU Riverpoint Campus on west Spokane Falls Boulevard and on North Riverpoint Boulevard, to the east side of downtown on Browne and Bernard Streets. This shuttle will not serve the parking lots at Gonzaga University, as it did last year. •The Jefferson Loop shuttle travels from the STA Jefferson Street Park & Ride lot to the west side of downtown on Lincoln Street. The Jefferson lot is under I-90, on Jefferson Street between Third and Fourth avenues. The shuttle cost – $1 either Saturday or Sunday – includes a day pass good for unlimited use throughout the STA system. Riders should bring exact change. The Hoopfest shuttles run every 10 minutes on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking is free at all designated shuttle lots. Hoopfest courts will surround the STA Plaza, requiring all regular routes to be detoured to alternate boarding zones a few blocks away on Howard Street, Second Avenue and Third Avenue. All regular service schedule times still apply.
