Community Colleges of Spokane announced that the following athletes will compete during the 2009-2010 school year for the Sasquatch (listed with high school if local, hometown if not):

Men’s soccer, Brandon Stevens (Central Valley); women’s soccer, Courtney Stewart (Shadle Park); volleyball, Ashley Semler (CV), Shannon Chan (Mead), Brieanne Schau (East Valley); men’s golf, Justin Sprengel (Kennewick); women’s golf, Brittiney Zier, Kelsey White and Alexa David (Richland); men’s basketball, Matthew Barnes (Shadle), Chaz Johnson (Mt. Spokane), Dado Vucak (Vancouver, Wash.), women’s basketball, Brooke Randall and Karianee Tuttle (East Wenatchee, Wash.), Jessica Sosnowski (Missoula); baseball, Jordan Hibbard (Seattle), Beau Dahmen (Genesee, Idaho), Matthew Miller (Cashmere, Wash.), JT Beach (CV); softball, Amanda Edwards (Rossland, B.C.), Moriah Beeler (Lakeside/Nine Mile Falls), Janelle Spear (Missoula); women’s tennis, Kindall Gehrett (Walla Walla).

Track and field

Recent Washington State graduate Sara Trané has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America women’s third team as selected by the College Sports Information of America. She holds school records in the steeplechase, 3,000 meters and distance medley relay.

Whitworth high jumper Cody Stelzer was a second-team pick on the college division squad. The junior is a two-time NCAA Division III national champion (once each indoor and outdoor).
