Sunshine aplenty leading into the Fourth of July

Mid-80s and sunny are the National Weather Service’s predictions for today and most of the week. Only wisps of clouds are expected to appear against the backdrop of the bright blue sky until Thursday night when a high pressure system moves through the area, according to the weather service. A light breeze predicted during the daytime hours could help keep people cool. Temperatures are anticipated to climb into the upper 80s by Thursday and could hit 90 on Friday. Independence Day is expected to be 87 and mostly sunny. Overnight lows will be in the 50s throughout the week, according to the weather service.
