Heat to start rising through weekend

A slight breeze, blue skies and lower 80s are forecast for today. The heat will start rising Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-80s Wednesday and be near 90 on Thursday. On Friday and Independence Day, expect mid-90s, according to the Weather Service. A slight chance of thunderstorms is forecast for Saturday night through Monday.

A cooldown is expected next week with temperatures back in the upper 70s.
