Phillip Thomas scored 17 points, Stephen Franklin scored 15 and Cliff Colimon had 12 points to lead the fourth-seeded College of Eastern Utah Golden Eagles to a 78-62 Region 18 men’s basketball tournament victory over the fifth-seeded Snow College Badgers Thursday night at North Idaho College’s Christianson Gym.

Eastern Utah will face regular-season champion and top-seeded North Idaho in tonight’s semifinal.

In the other semifinal, No. 3 Southern Idaho will play No. 2 Salt Lake.

Ryan Brimley scored 15 points to pace Snow.


Salt Lake 71, Eastern Utah 54: Nicole Brady scored 21 points and the fourth-seeded Bruins beat the fifth-seeded Golden Eagles at NIC.

Salt Lake will play top-seeded Southern Idaho today in one semifinal. No. 3 Snow faces No. 2 North Idaho in the other semifinal.

Kaylie Robinson had 19 points and eight rebounds for Eastern Utah.
