No field of dreams

The Spokesman-Review

As a resident of the Glenrose area, I’ve been following your coverage and letters regarding the placement of a youth sports complex in our rural neighborhood.

Contrary to the comments of the Sports Commission director, this has nothing to do about mom, apple pie and all those other heart-warming features of kids playing baseball. It has, however, everything to do with placement of a high-traffic, noisy and artificially-illuminated park in a field where the deer and the antelope play.

Put this private facility in the nearby Regal, 57th Avenue, Palouse Highway triangle of light industry, empty lots, good drainage, multiple street access and traffic lights. This isn’t Iowa and the Field of Dreams does not belong here.
