Bobcats send Grizzlies packing

Will Bynum scored 15 points, including a decisive three-point play with 7 seconds left, to lift the Montana State Bobcats to a 56-54 win over the Montana Grizzlies in the first round of the Big Sky Conference tournament on Saturday night in Missoula.

Divaldo Mbunga added nine points and 11 rebounds for the sixth-seeded Bobcats (13-16), who avenged two losses to the Grizzlies (17-12) this season and won their first league tournament game since 1999.

Trailing 53-52 with 22 seconds left, the Grizzlies held on for the last shot. But Bynum stole a pass and converted a three-point play.

Idaho State 67, Northern Colorado 60: Matt Stucki scored 20 points as the Bengals (13-18) overcame a six-point halftime deficit and beat the Bears (14-18) in a quarterfinal game in Pocatello, Idaho.

With the game tied at 55 with 2:20 remaining, the Bengals outscored the Bears 12-5, getting all of their points at the foul line.
