Eminem releasing new album in May

From Wire Reports

Eminem fans finally have another date with Slim Shady.

“Relapse,” the long-awaited new album by the hip-hop superstar, will be released May 19.

It arrives almost half a decade after his last studio record, which was followed by a botched tour and rehab stint.

Eminem will compensate for lost time with a twofer: “Relapse” will likely be followed later this year by a sequel, featuring songs recorded with longtime collaborator Dr. Dre during a productive stretch last fall.

“We were on such a roll. We wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre,” Eminem said in a statement. “Putting out ‘Relapse 2’ will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”

But the rapper and his associates have otherwise remained tight-lipped about the new material’s musical vibe.

“We are up to our old mischievous ways,” he told Billboard magazine. “Let’s just leave it at that.”

Kanye, Kelly to ‘Idol’

“American Idol” is about to get a double dose of star power: Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson.

The Grammy winners will share the stage as performers during Wednesday’s elimination show.

West, making his first appearance on the top-rated Fox series, will perform his hit song “Heartless” from his latest album “808s & Heartbreak.”

Clarkson, the original “American Idol,” will sing her chart-topper “My Life Would Suck Without You,” off her new album that drops Tuesday.

Rock Band goes Beatles

Rock Band is getting the perhaps greatest rock group of all time: The Beatles.

The former supergroup’s management announced last week that a Beatles version of the Rock Band video game will debut Sept. 9.

In addition, they’ll sell accompanying instruments modeled after the ones used by the band.

This is the first time Rock Band has based a game on one group, according to MTV Games. It has not yet been determined what Beatles songs will be included in the edition, available for Xbox360, Playstation 3, and Wii video game consoles.
