Bloomsday clinics start Saturday

Bloomsday Training Clinics will begin on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Spokane Falls Community College, 3410 W. Fort George Wright Drive, and will be held each Saturday through April 25.

The clinics will begin each week with stretching, then provide training tips in the gym with a personal trainer and physical therapists. At 9 a.m., training will begin with walking or running a mile and will increase a mile each week. Volunteers will provide water stations, first aid and crossing guards.

Concert benefits music center

Holy Names Music Center will host “Swing at the Bing” next Thursday.

The annual scholarship benefit concert will be at the Bing Crosby Theater, 901 W. Sprague Ave., and will begin with wine tasting at 6 p.m., with wines from Russell Creek Winery.

At 7 p.m., Howard Crosby will perform “The Great American Songbook” and will be joined by Gwen Lyons on the Celtic harp, along with Susan Windham and Diva Jazz.

‘Aging in Place’ event offered

The Southside Senior Activity and Community Center, 3151 E. 27th Ave., will have an informational independent living event Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Aging in Place” will provide resources for the public to plan for future housing, health care needs and ideas for products, services, and tips for independent living.

Perry Street Cafe will have lunch items available.
