A Bowdish Middle School teacher is on paid administrative leave as district officials investigate allegations of misconduct.

Anthony Cucinotti, a sixth grade language arts and history teacher, was placed on leave Thursday, a spokeswoman for the Central Valley School District confirmed today.

“The details of that investigation are not being released,” said Melanie Rose.

Cucinotti has not been arrested and the police have not been contacted, Rose said. Reached by phone this afternoon, Cucinotti said he couldn’t comment.

Principal Dave Bouge sent a letter home to parents and spoke with students today.

“He got these students together and talked with them about why rumors are not a good idea, and please focus on learning because that’s what we’re here to do,” Rose said.

This is not true. I had him last year and he would never do such a thing. Many of my classmates agree with me. We cannot believe someone would spread such a hateful rumor about him. He is one of the coolest, nicest, and funnest teachers at Bowdish. It makes us sick to our stomaches to even think that he could do such a thing. He would never.

Let me start this off by saying that this is the most outrageous accusation about an outstanding teacher that I have ever heard. I am a parent of 2 girls in the CV school system, one of which was a student of Anthony Cucinotti’s and another that sees him as a Mentor!!

My wife and I support this teacher 100% and find this falsehood to be revolting.

Now, as for the coverage of this NEWS media and others like it, you all should be ashamed of yourselves for releasing the teachers name and already taking the opinion that he is guilty without a full investigation being done.

Whatever happened to the principle of innocent until proven guilty???

It is rare to find a teacher as dedicated as Mr. Cucinotti. My grandaughter was his student for several years and I had many contacts with him. He is a person of outstanding character and with the very highest moral standards.
Any accusations against this man should be carefully considered as in my view, he is not capable of misconduct in areas considered character/moral concerns. It astounds me that his name would appear in a newspaper article when there is at this point no concrete facts to back up allegations. If the school district does not have the judgment to withold his name then I would like to think the newspaper’s policies might refrain from smearing a fine man’s reputation at this point in the investigation.
