Government strings everywhere

The Spokesman-Review

I will bet Obama and his staff are sitting back and having daily laughs while reflecting on how easy it is to implement their huge government programs. Jim Cramer and Warren Buffett, two of Obama’s big supporters, do not agree with him on some key issues and some business people are beginning to wake up to the fact that government is getting into everything with strings attached. Yes, Jamie Tobias Neely (column, Feb. 1), the government is attaching strings to the billions of dollars they are handing out.

Obama wants to manage medical care, education and energy. All three of these programs will touch each and every person. Once Obama has these three managed, the handouts will be enormous and will entrench the Democratic Party in the U.S. Why is Obama so sensitive about the word “socialism”? He had to call the New York Times and explain that his programs are not socialistic.

Another thing to note is why was it necessary to define the word “nationalization” in the Business section of the Review? Please continue to write your representative and senators and let them know how you feel about big government.
