Gonzaga women to play Xavier first

The Gonzaga women will play No. 20 Xavier in the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament.

Gonzaga (26-6) is 12th-seeded as the Bulldogs make their second trip ever to the NCAAs. The West Coast Conference champions also made the field in 2007. They are led by WCC player of the year Courtney Vandersloot and Heather Bowman.

Xavier (25-6) is a third seed out of the Atlantic 10.
