Treat Sandifur like Madoff

The Spokesman-Review

Friday’s S-R tells of Bernie Madoff’s jailing, awaiting his sentencing for operating a Ponzi scheme on investors. Today, as has been the case for at least one year, Paul C. Sandifur Jr. is out walking the streets. Sandifur headed up Metropolitan Mortgage in Spokane and now is in business in Southern California, obviously free of any criminal charges that took many of us in the Inland Empire of our life’s savings and inheritances. No one seems to know why the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has allowed this to happen. The Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office likewise is “mum” on this matter. Why are we taxpayers allowing this inaction to take place when many of us have lost millions of dollars to Metropolitan Mortgage’s obvious Ponzi scheme?
