Wash. State Patrol says labor e-mail not criminal
OLYMPIA — The State Patrol says an e-mail tying Democratic campaign money to a the passage of a union-friendly bill was not criminal.
The e-mail came from an official at the Washington State Labor Council. Gov. Chris Gregoire and top legislative Democrats say they’ve stopped any action on a so-called “Worker Privacy Act” bill because of the e-mail.
The political leaders sent the e-mail to police for investigation last week. But State Patrol Chief John Batiste says no criminal law was violated.
