Judge Clark presiding

The Spokesman-Review

My, oh my! The Doug Clark “Columnist is a liability” letter in the S-R’s March 13 editorial page was about as farsighted as an ostrich looking for food.

Clark regularly exposes many myths about Spokane that some idealists find unsettling and offensive. Unfortunately without columnists such as Clark many forms of corruption, misdeeds and incompetence would never see the light of day.

His column is often filled with negative stuff, such as needless police brutality and bureaucratic incompetence.

Without his commentary we would be ignorant of the unrepresented, such as Otto Zehm and other victims of injustice. Some readers may see Clark as the court jester; however I see him as a commentator in the court of last resort.
