Moscow man pleads to possessing child porn

A 27-year-old Moscow man pleaded has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in a case involving a large quantity of images or videos, according to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Idaho. Ryan Chambers, 27, entered his plea in federal court on Tuesday to possession of sexually explicit images of minors, said U.S. Attorney Tom Moss in a press release today The case dates back to a June search warrant for Chambers’ home during which a Moscow police detective found two computer hard drives containing the images of minors who appeared to be between the ages of 6 and 10. Chambers admitted to authorities that he had intentionally downloaded child pornography videos and that he had “thousands” of images or videos, officials said. Chambers became a suspect through investigation of a peer-to-peer file sharing program that was offering child pornography images of minors between 5 and 12 years old. Sentencing in the case was set for June 23. The maximum penalty is 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, and supervised release of at least five years after release from prison.
