Spokane Valley Fire – The department recently got a grant for $32,000 for protective equipment. An open house is planned for the new Station 9 on April 12. Fairfield City Council – The council voted to accept the second lowest bidder, Bowen Brothers Construction, for the town’s water improvement project. The lowest bid was rejected because it was incomplete. The council also discussed creek monitoring and an infiltration and inflow study on the sewer system. (Source: City Clerk Cheryl Loeffler)

Rockford City Council – The city engineers were at the meeting to discuss projects that include the water reservoir, stream bank restoration and East Emma rehabilitation. The town has received preliminary funding approval for a $160,000 Community Development Block Grant to pay for a telemetry system for the town’s water system. (Source: City Clerk)
