Justice miscarries

The Spokesman-Review

The outcome of the Jay Olsen trial has me boiling. I understand that the Code of Blue makes the folks in law enforcement stick together, but consider how this makes the Spokane police force as a whole appear to the public.

It’s not about fairness or justice when a jury makes a finding that flies in the face of everything we believe in. It’s not enough to say that we, the public, just don’t know all the facts. We know enough to be upset when it’s clear a miscarriage of justice has occurred.

I hope Mr. (Shonto) Pete and his family find the way to have Mr. Olsen tried in federal court for violating Mr. Pete’s civil rights.

There is recourse for injustice if you go after it.

Doug Clark has a button with the name Otto Zehm on it. I suggest he make one with Shonto Pete’s name also.
