Chiefs upend Seattle, head to Round 2

The Spokane Chiefs defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-3 Saturday night at the Arena to win their opening-round Western Hockey League playoff series four games to one.

The Chiefs advance to the second round where they will face the Vancouver Giants.

Drayson Bowman scored the Chiefs’ first and fifth goals. In between, Spokane got goals from Justin McCrae, Brady Calla and Mitch Wahl.
