The Spokesman-Review

Is this the way that it is supposed to work?

Government announces that a tax reduction will give workers an average of $13 more per paycheck. Exxon says this should be theirs and raises the price of gas. Joe Sixpack fills up his SUV using the $13 extra pay.

Exxon announces additional profits. Joe buys a hybrid car from General Motors. General Motors announces a profit for their last quarter and advertises for new workers. Joe quits his job and goes to work for General Motors. He decides to buy a new house.

Joe also decides to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh. “Happy Days are Here Again.”
