Foundation council formed

Nine North Idaho business and community leaders will help determine how to use grants and charitable gifts generated through the Inland Northwest Community Foundation.

The newly formed North Idaho Partnership Council members will represent the interests of Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, Benewah, Shoshone and Latah counties.

The foundation manages 262 funds valued at $48.4 million, and from these funds awards grants and scholarships to community groups.

“The formation of the North Idaho Partnership Council is part of the visionary planning of Margaret F. Galbraith, who lived in Wallace and died in 2006,” said Mark Hurtubise, President and CEO of the foundation. “Margaret created a legacy of almost $12 million to benefit the North Idaho region she loved in perpetuity through careful estate planning.”

The members of the new council include Hollis “Holly” Anderson of Hollis J. Anderson & Associates; Janice Baldwin of Merrill Lynch; Shelley Bennett of Team Idaho Real Estate; Kenton Bird of University of Idaho; Karl Dye of Bonner County Economic Development Corp.; Jim Elder of Cricket’s Restaurant; Darrell Kerby of Pace-Kerby & Co.; Sherry Krulitz, former Shoshone County Commissioner and community volunteer; and Kim Schwanz of Timber Plus.
