Home invasion results in shooting of one suspect
A resident trying to protect himself during a home invasion shot and seriously wounded one of two invaders early Monday.
Spokane police said the man underwent surgery at a Spokane hospital for two handgun wounds to his abdomen, and the other suspect ran and remained at large Monday afternoon.
A woman living at the home in the 4100 block of East 16th Avenue called 911 about 2 a.m., reporting that two men had entered the house and that her male roommate was confronting them in another room. The call came in about the same time the roommate fired shots in the other room, said Officer Tim Moses, police spokesman.
Both of the suspects were armed, police said.
Police have been unable to provide a full description of the two suspects, both in their 20s.
Moses said police detectives plan to interview the injured man to learn more about the other suspect and the reason for the confrontation. The home where the shooting occurred was built about 2002 and, according to county records, is owned by a Chattaroy couple.
College students are renting the house, and they had not had any previous problems, the owner said.
Three occupants of the home were interviewed Monday at the Public Safety Building and allowed to go home, police said.

Oops, wrong comment for this story—the Site has tossed me around. That was for the snowiest season ever article.
However, good for the home owner! If more home owners were armed, we’d have less people burglarizing. NO ONE should enter another man’s home.

Great “Gun Control” . Please stop and think for just a minute on the wisdom by our Founding Fathers. We have the “Right To Bear Arms” and here is a homeowner that did just that. It sure beats the alternative. Perhaps the person who committed the home invasion will have an opportunity to turn their life around over this experience.

Do you think this was drug related, (as most home invasions are)? As the story says, none of the facts are available yet. Not to say we should not have the right to bear arms and protect our homes, but this one reeks of “reap what you sow” so I’m not jumping on the “founding father’s” bandwagon just yet. I may be hasty in my conclusion, but I doubt it. :)

Sounds like he needs to go to the firing range & practice a little with that weapon. Should have got both of them!

Maybe some people should know the whole story before they talk. This is my sister you are talking about, and no, she is one of the nicest, most loving people you will ever meet. So please…before pointing fingers, do some research. How would you feel if someone pointed fingers at your loved one without any research or knowledge. Please, take into consideration that terrible things happen to great people, and my sister and her boyfriend have been through a tragic ordeal. If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.
