Deal makes ABC shows, Disney movies available on Hulu.com

From Wire Reports

Disney movies and ABC TV shows will be available on Hulu.com now that Walt Disney Co. is taking an equity stake in the popular video streaming site.

The deal will bring older Disney movies to the site, along with ABC and Disney Channel shows such as “Lost,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Wizards of Waverly Place” after they run on TV.

Disney hopes to gain new online viewers that it does not already capture on ABC.com and pick up new income from sharing ad revenue on Hulu, founded by NBC Universal and News Corp., the parent company of the Fox network.

Maury tackles pregnancy

Maury Povich’s daytime talk show is joining in a national campaign to prevent teen and unplanned young adult pregnancy.

The effort by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy will include themed segments on “Maury,” public service announcements and events, and a panel moderated by Povich this week in Washington.

The campaign kicks off on Wednesday, designated as a national day to prevent teen pregnancy. The U.S. teen birth rate rose in the past few years after a long period of decline.

Movies with McCain

John McCain will be the host of AMC cable network’s Memorial Day movie marathon celebrating war heroes.

The former POW and presidential candidate will introduce films including “Midway,” “Patton,” “The Longest Day,” “Hamburger Hill,” “Tora! Tora! Tora!” and “Battle of the Bulge.”
