Witnesses sought in assault of woman on North Division

A Spokane man is accused of threatening a woman who’s to testify against him in a harassment and burglary case.

Police hope more witnesses to the incident come forward.

Dustin C. Ferguson, 28, had a gun in his waistband when he pulled his blue Nissan Pathfinder alongside the woman walking in the 7900 block of North Division Street on April 20 and hit her in the head, said police Detective Corey Turman.

The incident occurred between 4:35 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. near a busy shopping center. Anyone with information is asked to call (509) 363-8236.

Second man arrested in April fatal shooting

A second man has been arrested in the shooting death of a 33-year-old Central Washington man.

Adrian Adame-Madrid, 18, of Othello, Wash., faces a first-degree murder charge in the April 11 death of Manuel Antonio Arousa, of Warden, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Israel Morfin, 27, of Sunnyside, Wash., was arrested the day of the crime.

Tips led deputies to Adame-Madrid, who was arrested by an Adams County patrol sergeant Tuesday about six miles southeast of Othello.

Authorities believe Adame-Madrid was with Morfin when Arousa was killed and tried taking a stereo from Arousa’s car, sparking the fight that led to Arousa’s death, the Sheriff’s Office said.
