Turn eyes back to Earth

The Spokesman-Review

This refers to today’s (May 18) cartoon by Joe Heller of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. It compares the gross expense of the astronaut Hubble extending into space for interesting reasons. It relatively compares it to the cost of “Social Security and Medicare.”

It is a valuable cartoon and raises the subject of where we spend our money. There may be a hidden value to sending astronauts into space that may outstandingly carry atomic bombs anywhere, if such becomes indicated. If this is the case it has not been clarified.

At this time it is my opinion that we have accomplished all we need in space. We should concentrate on food, shelter, clothing and medical care at home.
