Fired The Calgary Flames fired Mike Keenan as coach on Friday, almost a month after his team lost in the first round of the NHL playoffs for the second straight year. Keenan spent just two seasons with Calgary, and general manager Darryl Sutter said expectations were not met.

Granted A federal judge in New Haven, Conn., issued a preliminary injunction that prevents Quinnipiac University in Connecticut from eliminating its women’s volleyball team, saying the team was likely to prevail in its gender equity case. Judge Stefan Underhill granted an injunction that keeps the team intact until a lawsuit against the school can be heard.

Located San Carlos, Calif., police say they’ve found a 75-year-old member of the 1956 Olympic champion U.S. basketball team who wandered from his home and was missing for four days. Police say Robert Jeangerard, who has Alzheimer’s disease, left his San Carlos home Monday night.

Charged Tennis player Jelena Dokic’s father, Damir Dokic, was charged with threatening the Australian ambassador in Belgrade, Serbia. Police found rifles and hand grenades during the search of his house.

Attacked A pit bull owned by Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison bit his 2-year-old son in the thigh, but the boy is expected to recover. Harrison’s agent, William Parise, said that James III was bitten after his mother let the dog out of its pen Thursday afternoon.
