Body found in Grant Co. irrigation canal
A woman’s body was found in a canal outside Quincy, Wash., last week, and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying it.
An autopsy conducted Tuesday concluded the body to be 5-foot-1 and between 35 and 50 years old, according to a news release.
Tattoos are on the right forearm and left hand, the Grant County Coroner’s Office said.
The body was found in an irrigation canal May 21.
“Due to the fluctuating environmental temperatures it could not be determined how long the body had been in the water,” the news release said. “Preliminary autopsy findings are consistent with drowning, however, cause and manner of death will remain pending until the investigation is complete.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Kim Cook with the Sheriff’s Office at (509) 754-2011 ext. 468.
