Pair held in car blaze that sears Zip Trip store

From Staff Reports

Two men were arrested Friday for allegedly setting a car on fire that then spread to a south Spokane convenience store.

Joshua S. Garry, 23, and James S. Reed, 28, were booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of first-degree arson.

The Spokane Fire Department was called to the Zip Trip store at 1523 W. 10th Ave. about noon after the report of a car on fire at the rear of the building. Firefighters quickly extinguished the car fire, but not before it spread to the nearby building, which sustained minor exterior damage. The car was destroyed, fire officials said.

Fire investigators found the two suspects near the store and arrested them.
