Brothers build custom choppers

Custom-built chopper motorcycles, hot rods and rat rods (more basic hot rods) are for sale at Marston’s Custom Choppers at 9873 Government Way, Hayden.

Brothers Gary and Dave Marston also sell parts and service the bikes.

They also design and build theme bikes, such as the King Arthur bike featuringn a suit of armor.

Originally from Auburn, Calif., the Marstons came north in 1974 and have been in the chopper business for 35 years. They bought the building, and previous main-floor tenant Crazy Jane’s Antiques moved upstairs.

Hawaiian takeout

Hawaiian favorites are featured at Teriyaki Tiki opening this week at 1625 N. Fifth St., Coeur d’Alene. The takeout eatery is behind the Corner Bar at Fourth Street and Spruce Avenue.

Owners Mick and Aggy Atteshis and their children offer barbecue items, teriyaki chicken, ribs, chicken katsu, burgers, desserts and Hawaiian drinks from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Most items have Hawaiian marinades and sauces.

Originally from England, Mick brought his family to Coeur d’Alene from Hawaii in 2005 to join friends and relatives.

Harmony Yarn moves to Bear Paw

Offering products related to yarn and classes to work it, Harmony Yarn has moved from 1034 Third St. to Bear Paw Plaza in front of Fred Meyer on Kathleen Avenue.

Premier Auction moves in Post Falls

Premier Auction Center is Post Falls has moved from Riverbend Avenue to 674 N. Pleasantview Ave. Now in its own 5,000-square-foot building on three acres, the center hosts auctions at 5:30 p.m. Fridays with previews at 4 p.m. An antique auction will take place in mid-June. •The Midtown makeover started this week with the $3 million project to include new sidewalks, pavement and colored intersections.

The first phase is under way from Foster to Miller Avenue.

The second phase will start in late June from the alley north of Lakeside to Foster, and the third, from July to October, will take place from Miller to Harrison Avenue. Businesses will remain open.
