Sixth Spokane swine flu victim announced

A woman in her 20s died yesterday at a local hospital of swine flu, the Spokane Regional Health Dsitrict said today. She is the sixth Spokane County resident to die of the virulent strain of influenza, also called H1N1. The latest victim had underlying health conditions, health district officials said. The health district doesn’t release identifying information about swine flu victims. Besides the six Spokane County residents to die, two more people — a baby flown here for treatment from Franklin County and an adult woman visiting Spokane — died here.
