Church bazaars fill weekend

The traditional weekend for church craft fairs and bazaars is finally here, just in time to start shopping for the holiday season.

Westminster Congregational United Church of Christ, 411 S. Washington St., will hold its annual Christmas bazaar and market Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Items for sale include arts, crafts and books.

Audubon Park United Methodist Church, 3908 N. Driscoll Blvd., will have a holiday bazaar Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Items for sale will include crafts, holiday decorations, books and baked goods.

•The fall bazaar at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline St., will be present its fall bazaar Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will include a dessert and coffee bar, quilt raffle and silent auction. Items for sale include hand-crafted items, baked goods, jams, cards and gently used books. There will also be a children’s bargain table.

The proceeds will benefit the church’s outreach projects.

Liberty Park United Methodist Church, 1526 E. 11th Ave., holds its annual bazaar Saturday as well, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will include a continental breakfast for $2 all day, Christmas items, hand-quilted baby blankets and a bake sale.

•The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will present its annual fall food bazaar Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will include a chicken Yakisoba lunch for $10 and Senbei for $3.50. Sushi and mochi (Japanese rice cakes) will be available by pre-order.

Snowflake Gala

All Saints Catholic School will hold its annual Snowflake Gala auction Friday at Northern Quest Casino, 100 N. Hayford Road, Airway Heights.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Items on the block include a signed basketball and shirt from the Gonzaga University men’s team, a suite at the Spokane Arena for a Spokane Chiefs game and a Palm Springs getaway.

Tickets are $35 per person, which includes dinner. You must be at least 21 years old to attend. Proceeds will support the school.

Wine tasting, auction

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 5720 S. Perry St., puts on its annual “Toasting & Tasting” wine tasting and auction Saturday from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Local vintners will be there to talk about wine and answer questions. The event also includes hors d’oeuvres, music, and live and silent auctions.

Proceeds will benefit the church’s community outreach programs. Tickets are $30.

CYT presents

The Christian Youth Theater will perform “School House Rock! Live” at the Bing Crosby Theater, 901 W. Sprague Ave., Friday, Saturday, and Nov. 14 at 7 p.m., and Saturday and Nov. 14 and 15 at 3 p.m.

The performance will include the classic “School House Rock” songs “Just a Bill,” “Lolly, Lolly, Lolly,” and “Conjunction Junction.”
