POST FALLS – The Post Falls Parks and Recreation Department is registering boys and girls in grades 1 through 9 for Recreational Youth Basketball. Registration ends Dec. 4 or when teams are full.

Practices will begin in early January and games have a tentative start date on Jan. 23.

Divisions include first and second grade teams, which may be coed, third and fourth grade teams and fifth and sixth grade teams. Seventh through ninth grade teams may be coed.

A mandatory parents meeting is scheduled at Mullan Trail Elementary School gym Dec. 15 at 6 p.m.

Registration fees are $26 per student for residents and $30 per student for nonresidents.

Evergreen Cemetery to be prepped for winter

POST FALLS – On Wednesday, the city of Post Falls Cemetery Division will begin preparing Evergreen Cemetery for the winter.

Individual cemetery plot owners will be asked to remove all seasonal decorations by Wednesday. The decorations and temporary displays which may be a problem during winter weather will be removed and discarded in accordance with the city’s cemetery rules and regulations.

‘Moliere Than Thou’ free next Sunday at NIC

COEUR D’ALENE – “Moliere Than Thou,” a one-man play, will be performed by nationally-acclaimed playwright Timothy Mooney next Sunday at North Idaho College’s Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m.

The 90-minute play parades through 10 of the best-loved plays of French playwright Moliere.

NIC receives $50,000 nurse training grant

COEUR D’ALENE – North Idaho College’s nursing department has received a $50,000 grant from the Idaho Workforce Development Council to fund practical nurse training in rural North Idaho.

The funding will support the conversion of the instructional portion of the NIC Practical Nursing program to an online format, so it can be delivered at health care facilities where the certified nursing assistants are employed. Funding will also go toward the development and delivery of online preceptor training as well as lab supplies and training materials.

Library to host class on sharing personal history

POST FALLS – The Post Falls Library, 821 N. Spokane St., will have a personal history class on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The class will be taught by professional personal historian Katie Vaughn, who will teach participants the techniques to become an oral historian to share their personal history.

The cost is $10 per person and is limited to 12 people.

The Post Falls Library is also offering digital photography courses during the month of November and the first week of December.

Mechanics and Technologies in Today’s Cameras will be held on Thursday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The Art of Photography will be on Nov. 21, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Review and Critique will be held on Dec. 3, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
