Pelosi’s vow broken
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi again breaks her pledge to put the final health care bill online for 72 hours before bringing the bill to a vote on the House floor, despite her Sept. 24 statement that she was “absolutely” committed to doing so.
I think James Madison was right when he wrote the following in the Federalist Papers: “It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they can not be read, or so incoherent that they can not be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be tomorrow.” If only Madison were in Pelosi’s place today.
