Man with fake mustache robs Baskin-Robbins

A man wearing a fake mustache and beard robbed a Baskin-Robbins employee Thursday night in north Spokane. The robber confronted the employee at the 1925 N. Monroe St. ice cream shop by implying he had a handgun in his pocket and demanding cash, Spokane police said. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, he fled west through a parking lot. Police arrived at the scene within a minute of the employee’s 911 call at 9:50 p.m. Officers set up a perimeter near the store and brought in a police dog to try to track the suspect but had no success. The robber was described as a 6-foot tall black man with a thin build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, light-colored pants, a light blue baseball cap, black gloves and the glued-on facial hair.
