A personalized license plate on a Suzuki automobile helped law officers track down a suspect Friday in connection with a Spokane Valley bank robbery.

Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle with the license plate “PC” leave the scene of the 2 p.m. Thursday robbery at American West Bank, 15606 E. Sprague Ave.

Sgt. John Nowels and Spokane Valley detectives found the vehicle about 10:30 a.m. Friday in the vicinity of 29th Avenue and Ray Street in Spokane and arrested the suspect after stopping the vehicle, according to a sheriff’s spokesman.

Christopher J. Cook was taken into custody and booked on one count of first-degree robbery.
