Fever break free from AF1

Tri-City Herald

KENNEWICK – The Tri-Cities Fever’s run in the Arena Football One league is over before it really started.

In an unexpected move, Fever co-owner and general manager Teri Carr is moving the team from the AF1 league to the Indoor Football League for the 2010 season.

Carr made the decision Wednesday night, saying it was the best option for her and Tri-Cities fans.

The Fever were expected to play in the new AF1 in the Tier 2 division, which was scrapped by the league Wednesday because of a lack of teams.

Kentucky was the first team to drop out, then this week Arkansas said it was moving to the IFL, leaving the Fever in a five-team league with Oklahoma City, Bossier-Shreveport, Tennessee Valley and Central Valley.
