In brief: More vaccine doses spur round of clinics

An influx of swine flu vaccines has prompted health officials to offer a series of appointment-only clinics in early December.

The Spokane Regional Health District has about 2,200 doses of vaccine – much of it in shot form, which is acceptable for pregnant women, children with asthma and others with underlying health conditions.

The 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. clinics will take place:

Dec. 1 at Spokane Valley Partners.

Dec. 2 at West Central Community Center.

Dec. 8 at East Central Community Center.

Dec. 10 at Northeast Community Center.

Appointments are required; call (509) 324-1648 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. This batch of vaccines is reserved for pregnant women, people who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months, health care workers, people ages 6 months to 24 years, and people ages 25 to 64 with chronic health conditions.
