In brief: Voiceless Choir concert Dec. 6

SPOKANE COUNTY – The fourth annual HeartSongs Concert to benefit homeless families will be held at the Bing Crosby Theater, 901 W. Sprague Ave., on Dec. 6, beginning 5:30 p.m.

The annual performance is put on by The Voiceless Choir, a group of homeless and formerly homeless families.

Proceeds from the concert will fund choir members’ gas vouchers, Crosswalk Teen Shelter, and Interfaith Hospitality.

The Voiceless Choir is supported by community members and Covenant Christian Church.

Elite shops host open house/benefit

Spokane County – Elite Group: Elite Tan, Elite Fitness and Elite Salon and Spa, 4241 S. Cheney-Spokane Road, will have an open house Friday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The event will include door prizes, giveaways, catered food, and the opportunity to help a local family in need.

David Madvin, the owner of Elite Group will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from the open house to the Stanelun-Picken family. Sean Stanelun’s struggle with flesh-eating bacteria was featured in an Oct. 29 Voice story, and his health problems continue. Dana Haynes, maker of Dandles candles, will donate two gift baskets. A silent auction will also be held. All proceeds from the auction and the sale of the baskets will be donated to the family.
