Signed Georgia Tech football coach Paul Johnson agreed Friday to a one-year extension of his contract, which now runs through 2016.

•The Green Bay Packers signed former Kalispell (Mont.) Flathead High and Central Washington quarterback Mike Reilly to their practice squad.

•Pitcher John Grabow became the first of the 171 free agents to reach agreement on a new deal, getting a $7.5 million, two-year contract from the Chicago Cubs.

Fined Baltimore Ravens defensive end Dwan Edwards plans to appeal the $5,000 fine he received for a hit delivered to Cleveland Browns wide receiver Joshua Cribbs on Monday night.

•Pittsburgh linebacker James Harrison was fined $5,000 for unnecessary roughness when he struck Cincinnati tackle Andrew Whitworth late.

•Jacksonville defensive back Reggie Nelson was fined $7,500 for roughing New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.

•Tennessee cornerback Cortland Finnegan was fined $10,000 for trying to tackle an opponent by grabbing the facemask and unnecessary roughness.

•Tennessee linebacker Keith Bulluck was fined $7,500 for unnecessary roughness.

•Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett was fined $7,500 for his elbow to the throat of Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.

Injured Bucks center Andrew Bogut will be out two to four weeks after the former No. 1 pick was kicked in the left leg in a recent win. An MRI Thursday revealed he had strained a ligament on the outside of his left calf to go along with a bruise.

•The Nationals say No. 1 draft pick Stephen Strasburg has a dislocation in his left knee joint and should be fine for spring training. The former San Diego State right-hander twisted his knee during a workout Thursday and has been scratched from his start in the Arizona Fall League championship game.

•U.S. skier Resi Stiegler is out for the season after breaking two bones in her left leg in a crash during giant slalom training.

Announced Alabama’s Rolando McClain, Florida’s Brandon Spikes and Missouri’s Sean Weatherspoon are again finalists for the Butkus Award, given annually to the nation’s top linebacker. South Carolina’s Eric Norwood and Texas’ Sergia Kindle also are finalists.
